An interviewer at a centre for gifted children encounters a child whose perception of the world defies human comprehension. A man experiencing time lapses suspects he may be guilty of murder. A helping hand for the homeless and an unbelievable job opportunity for the unskilled—in a hostile future, can such benevolence be trusted? A man displaced through time over and over again struggles to comprehend his fate while a former space marine discovers that falling in love with an alien can have unintended side effects.
These science fiction stories explore diverse aspects of the human mind—its incredible ability to remember, its adaptability when faced with extreme events, its capacity to interface with technology, its perception of time—and how all these aspects challenge our sense of who we really are.
A Mind Supreme SF Short Stories eBook Thomas Fay
I really enjoy this collection of short SF stories. It’s very well written with smart and sometimes witty dialogue and very interesting plots. I like all the stories but “The price of identity” and “The human factor” are my favorite. They’re smart and have shown a full spectrum of scientific knowledge from economics and banking to human brain function and psychology.I would without a doubt recommend this book to SF readers. A very promising debut and I look forward to seeing lots more of Thomas Fay writing .
My score is 4.5 out of 5 , Lily

A Mind Supreme SF Short Stories eBook Thomas Fay Reviews
Plots of these stories are unique and involving from start till end. Even if you could see influences of other writers, stories develop in outstanding manner and you cannot predict what will happen next. Some stories can be germ of really good novels, I hope we will see it one day. Conspiracies, psionics, mysterious corporations, outsiders and aliens - all of this and much more you can find in this book. If you are keen on s-f, I can strongly recommend 'A Mind Supreme', you will not be disappointed.
Enthralling. This is a brilliant debut- well-written, fast-paced, internally and scientifically coherent. I can't wait to read more from this author.
The short novels are a good reading. And the endings are leaving a room to the reader's imagination. It is an inspiring narrative about the future.
The short stories were very easy to read. Loved the 3rd and 4th stories the best. Definitely keen to read more from this author!
This selection of short SF/fantasy stories by a newcomer writing under the name of Thomas Fay is rather promising. Some of his ideas are fresh and the writing style is very good with occasional humour and inventive twists. Overall, an enjoyable reading, worth downloading. The author is in the process of developing his own identity, so it will be interesting to see what comes next. 3.5 stars from me
From the moment I started reading I had to finish this book.Thoroughly enjoyed the short story format especially The Price of Identity and The Inter-temporal Displacement of Daniel John Michael Bishop. I found the futuristic themes set in Australia refreshing. My usual reading is the horror genre of authors Brian Lumley and H.P.Lovecraft.I hope Thomas Fay will be writing more books in the future as I would happy to add him to my library.
